Bob harvested this trophy mule deer buck on the 2013 November rifle mule deer hunt in Unit 13B on the Arizona Strip.  A massive and heavy beamed frame, some great cheaters and non typical points, all add up to the trophy mule deer buck of a lifetime. Bob and Steve were hunting some great bucks during their Arizona Strip mule deer hunt and when this trophy Arizona Strip buck was spotted rutting some does there was absolutely no doubt whatsoever about his shooter status. Bob was able to capitalize on the shooting opportunity that this buck presented to him and the end result is this great looking Arizona Strip buck. ARIZONA STRIP MULE DEER

Here is another fantastic Arizona strip mule deer buck from our 2013 Arizona mule deer season. This great typical Arizona strip buck was harvested by Hope Ramsey during the rifle mule deer hunt in Arizona Strip Unit 13B. Hope was hunting with her husband Robert Ramsey, friend Malcolm Smith, brother Houston Engelke, and Team ASG professional mule deer guide Tyne Heckethorn. The Arizona Strip Guides team had been keeping an eye on this great buck since the summer months during our intensive preseason scouting. We had a couple of very close calls and came very close to harvesting this great Arizona strip mule deer during the 2013 archery mule deer hunt in Unit 13B. Team ASG was able to relocate this great typical buck right before the rifle hunt started several miles away from where we had been seeing him during the summer. After spotting this buck crossing a large opening early one morning, a careful stalk was planned to get Hope within shooting range and the rest is history. One well placed shot from Hope was all it took to put this awesome Arizona strip buck on the ground and the entire hunt was captured on video due to some great camera work by Team ASG guide Tyne Heckethorn. Believe it or not, this giant Arizona strip buck is Hope’s first mule deer buck ever and she accomplished this amazing harvest while being 6 months pregnant with twins. What an incredible experience for the Ramsey family and Team ASG was very honored to be a part of this very special Arizona Strip mule deer hunt. Once again all of the glory goes to you Lord. Here he is ladies and gentlemen, this is one of the highest scoring Arizona mule deer bucks that was harvested on the draw tag 2013 Arizona mule deer hunts. This giant Arizona strip mule deer buck was harvested by Kalen Joost during the rifle hunt in Unit 13B while being guided by Arizona Strip Guides LLC co-owner Travis McClendon. This tremendous Arizona strip buck of a lifetime definitely has everything you could ever want in a monster mule deer. A giant typical frame, lots of mass, a 32 inch spread, lots of extra points, and tons of character. The Arizona Strip Guides Team had captured this great buck on trail camera and he surpassed all of our expectations when we were finally able to harvest him. Everyone in camp pretty much agreed that this buck was a 220 plus non typical but none of us could have imagined that this buck was truly as big as he ended up being. It was a highly emotional moment for the entire Arizona Strip Guides Team as we finally got to lay hands on this magnificent Arizona Strip mule deer buck. Everything came together and Kalen was able to capitalize perfectly when this giant Arizona strip buck presented a shooting opportunity. In case any of you missed it, this giant Arizona strip buck was featured on the cover of Huntin Fool magazine last month along with a full length feature article describing the exciting hunt that culminated in the harvesting of this giant Arizona strip buck.

2013 UNIT 12B WEST MULE DEER

This great looking 2013 Unit 12B west mule deer buck from the early season rifle hunt was harvested by Jeff Moore while hunting with the Arizona Strip Guides LLC Team. Jeff was being guided on his successful 2013 Arizona mule deer hunt by Landon Wittwer of Team ASG. Also assisting on this great mule deer hunt was TJ Goodnow and Hoss Tait of the Arizona Strip Guides Team along with Isaac Johnson and Morgan Bringhurst. After passing up lots of bucks every day of their hunt, this great typical was located and the hunt for him was on. Jeff made a fantastic 200 plus yard offhand shot that anchored this trophy Arizona mule deer buck right in his tracks. The early season rifle mule deer hunts in Unit 12B west can be very difficult hunts but lots of hard work and tenacity from all of the great guys mentioned above culminated in the harvesting of this great looking Arizona mule deer buck. The next 2013 Arizona mule deer buck harvested by Team ASG that we are going to be featuring on the Arizona Strip Guides Blog today is this great looking typical Arizona mule deer buck that was harvested by Johnny Burris and guided by Jabe Warner of the Arizona Strip Guides Team. This successful Arizona mule deer hunt took place on the 2013 muzzleloader mule deer hunt in Unit 12B west. After passing up some smaller mule deer bucks on this Unit 12B west muzzleloader mule deer hunt, this great typical buck was spotted and the decision was quickly made by Jabe and Johnny to try and get close enough to this trophy mule deer buck for a good clean shot. Normally when you are hunting trophy mule deer bucks with a muzzleloader getting close means getting under 200 yards away from the deer if not even closer yet. Well, when you can expertly handle a muzzleloader and have years of experience shooting muzzleloaders at extreme long ranges like Johnny Burris can such is not the case. After stalking into just under 400 yards from this good looking typical Arizona mule deer buck Johnny got his long range muzzleloader all set up for the shot and hammered this great Arizona buck at just under 400 yards away!
